i was at my house on kingspine all alone.  i went upstairs and noticed that my parents' bedroom doors were closed.  this terrified me because i swore they were open when i was last up there.  i ran downstairs.  i was in a hurry to get out of there when all of a sudden blair appeared in the entryway.  he scared the crap out of me.  i asked him if he was in my parents' bedroom and he admitted to it embarrassed because he knew he shouldn't have used that toilet.

there was a tsunami warning.  i was in a place by the ocean with roads that reminded me of mission valley.  i was trying to calculate the potential height of the water and figuring out where i had to go to be at high enough ground to be safe.  there was a map of some sort with little water pools illustrating the potential flood zone but it didn't make sense to me.  i noticed a few dirt parking lots that had been abandoned.  i figured they were well high enough but suddenly the water came and quickly overtook the parking lot.  there was ice in the water.  i kept climbing and there was nobody around me.  i worried where they were.  i got tot he top of the hill and there was a building that i ran into.  i walked through the halls and then opened a door and there was a fire escape.  i went down the stairs and out on the street.  it was getting dark.  i saw the bar on the street that i had passed on my way into the building.  the power had gone out everywhere.  i assumed it was a bar that only old men hung out in but i decided that i wanted to go anyway.  i thought to myself, this is no time to be going to a bar but i was so excited i could taste the beer while i was walking in.  i noticed a girl in a skimpy yellow dress sitting on a table outside.  then more.  the place was really happening.

i woke up and found myself floating in an expansive tropical sea.  i was hanging in the water from my life vest.  there were tourists all around.  it was a beautiful place.  my dad approached and i told him i had fallen asleep.  neither of us thought it was such a big deal despite the fact that i should have drowned.  i commented that it was impossible to go anywhere these days without being surrounded by tourists.

i was in La Jolla.  it didn't look like La Jolla but there was an aura about it which makes me believe that it was.  i was descending down a long escalator.  there were some random guys around me discussing the coolest places to live.  the obvious choices were the ocean front houses but this one guy noticed a penthouse apartment with a samurai warrior statue inside and pointed it out.  i looked up and said 'i have been in that place'.  i recalled the time that the dude living there invited me in.  the place was full of japanese art, swords, and a kimodo dragon.  when i took my eyes back off the apartment, i was walking into a courtyard with david land and scott magill.  i was giving them a tour of the place and said La Jolla was the best because they had so many great dentists to choose from.  there was one just below the Samurai apartment and two on either side of the stairs that we were walking down.  when we got to the bottom there was a kimodo dragon standing in a bed of gray rocks staring at us.  it was trying to intimidate us by flicking out its tongue and then started to blow itself up with big red wings protruding from the sides of its neck.  we quickly scampered around the corner where we found ourselves in scott and sara's kitchen.  i said hello and noticed that there were makeshift beds laid out on the floor.  ian was also there.  we were asking each other what they were going to do, with sleep as an option because we were jet lagged and couldn't determine what time of day it was.

there was a fishing competition.  these two guys were talking trash out the sides of their boats saying they were going to "out fish" the others.  as they spoke they wore fish on their hands and made the fish talk like puppets as they barked at each other.  i commented how big the fish were.  they were massive and had many huge fins that spread out.  the boats took off down the road, pulled by trucks.  scott and i decided to go watch.  so we walked down this tijuana like alley way with various merchants that had set up little shops spread out every 50 meters or so.  i remember one of the shopkeepers was pretty much bald with very thin gray hair and dressed in a vest and bow tie like from the 1890s.  he had stuck a big piece of white fluffy hair on the side of his head with a barrette.  it looked ridiculous.  we emerged into a picture perfect Arizona valley.  it was just darker than twilight.  there were beautiful mountains surrounding us.  expansive dark earth and golf courses littered with brand new mansions.  i said, if i lived here i could buy one of these mansions.  then i kept saying the word "mansion" over and over in a funny voice.  there was a church in the middle of the golf course and mansions made entirely of stained glass.  not like stained glass windows but with really big panels of different colors, almost like flagstone glass but bigger.  the glass was held together with thick white molding.  there were no lights on in the church but since it was made entirely of glass, it was illuminated by the sky and whatever lights were on behind it.  i thought about calling mackay.  or maybe we were meeting him there.  to the right of the church was a large white tent that had been set up on the golf course.  there were a bunch of people about.  i saw ian and went up to him.  i was expecting him to comment about how beautiful it was in arizona and how nice it would be to live in one of the houses, that was certainly a possibility finanically.  i was expecting him to say that he was going to move there.  how could you live anywhere else?  then i thought i would impress him with Arizona live with a story that mackay told me so i started it up...  he was a tennis pro and had taken out one of the moms who's kid he taught.  when he was done he ran into another girl at a strip club and took her home too.  as i was finishing the story i noticed that ian had walked away and i was left telling this to two 12 year old girls.  they found the story so funny but i felt really bad that i was telling these two this so i quickly walked away.  i also thought about how ian was uninterested in the story and maybe thought i was an idiot for telling him.  the event with the tent was the Club trip.  i found ian and settled in to a group conversation.  i recognised everyone there but this one couple.  they kept looking at me trying to get me to acknowledge them.  i didn't know who they were but they seemed to know me.  i decided to ignore them rather than to inquire.
